NUTRITIONAL THERAPY
Nutritional therapy is an evidence-informed, whole-body approach to nutrition and lifestyle medicine. Addressing potential underlying causes of ill health, rather than focusing on symptoms, it is used to promote health through nutrition and lifestyle support.
Nutritional therapy practitioners (sometimes referred to as Nutritional Therapists) may use a wide range of tools to assess individual health status and to identify potential nutritional imbalances that may be contributing to symptoms. The focus is always on the individual because many chronic conditions, as well as day-to-day fluctuations in health and well-being, can be linked to individual nutrition and lifestyle.
We use a range of functional testing in our clinic, including DUTCH testing, comprehensive stool testing, hair mineral analysis and more.
These are recommended on a case by case basis and prices of these are not including in the consultation price as it is a separate fee paid to the labs and dependent on the labs/tests chosen.
What to expect?
In the initial appointment, we will take a comprehensive health history including details of your lifestyle and past/current health conditions. We will analyse your current diet and requirements as well as any current supplements and medications you are taking. After the initial appointment, we will research your case and compile a full plan with dietary, lifestyle and supplement recommendations tailored to you.
During a follow-up, we will review your progress and discuss any compliance issues with the plan, new symptoms, improvements etc. We will provide interpretation of any new functional tests results. You will receive an updated dietary, supplement and lifestyle plan following this.
